As an artist I am constantly in search of depth of expression – be it in a smile, shadow or light, a single moment frozen in time or a wall of sound enveloping the senses, a journey through immersion in sight and sound. My work is based on a continuing effort to bring the Dharma to this world through photography, video and music, and with it the naturally blossoming passionate expression of depth, color and light. Dharma has a unifying force of tremendous power – the direct teachings of the Buddha and the Sangha – the Dharma community, those who continue to teach and practice across the world. My work is dedicated for the support of this activity and community, my sincere wish being that I can continue to offer my art to the world.

In 2012, based on the advice of Shamar Rinpoche, I left my life in the United States and moved to Dhagpo Kagyu Ling to become a full time volunteer in the support of a Dharma Center. Since that time I have been extremely blessed to have found an incredible way to support the Dharma through photography and film. This is something that has proven to be more wonderful than I could have imagined, and it has given my life new meaning and a true sense of purpose. I have been able to represent Dhagpo and KIBI, to take photographs, make short films and document Dharmic activity all over the world for His Holiness the Karmapa, Shamar Rinpoche and Jigme Rinpoche as well as many other teachers from our lineage. As a volunteer I have forgone a traditional career, in hopes that my work can truly benefit others, and that I can help to spread the Dharma. I offer what I do to everyone without charge, that we can all benefit from the activity of our teachers and their amazing compassion. I never planned this activity; through Shamar Rinpoche’s blessings it seems to have simply become what I do. The fact that my activity brings joy and benefit to others makes me tremendously happy. I present to you – Dharma Imagery Project; the first step in the continuation of my work and the natural and organic growth of my activity in benefit of others and in the direct support of our lineage.

By offering financial support you will be helping me to travel, pay for lodging and food, photo equipment and upkeep and other travel expenses, and directly allowing me to continue the activity I have started. I understand that to involve my community and my Dharma family, to allow those who wish to help and offer their support and the possibility to join in the activity – is something that not only I need, it allows others the opportunity to share in the merit and also makes many people happy. No offering is too small, any donation or offering is such a wonderful statement to me of support and commitment.

My work is a labor of love. It means everything to me, and I have dedicated my life to this ideal with all I have. I have discovered that being able to share what I do without having to ask people to pay for it has been the greatest discovery – for with the ability to simply give it away I am filled with happiness and the work takes on a whole new meaning and purpose. In order to continue to do this I survive and exist on a donation basis, so that the generosity and participation of others can be the basis for my work. Dharma Imagery Project was conceived and created for this singular purpose, to continue to share my inspiration with the world, so that all may enjoy and take part in the incredible tradition, art and joy that the Dharma brings, to anyone and everyone, from all walks of life, across the planet. I am so deeply honored to be able to share this with you all, and I hope that together, we can shape this project into something that can truly benefit others, and always remain freely accessible for all to enjoy and share.
