Today I am seven years old.

Australia - Seven Years In Sydney

Seven years ago I made the decision to save my life, to move away from the darkness of my addiction that had enveloped me for so many years, and to be clean, sober and awake.

I spent the greater part of my early life trying to hide from my true potential, from my inner greatness, and it was exactly seven years ago today that I finally stopped running. I opened my heart to the world as it really is. I became a Warrior. My life is now beautiful, with all its wondrous ups and downs. It wouldn’t be a real life without them. As Karmapa says, you cannot make a photograph without darkness and light, for it is the contrast between them that brings out the true beauty. Where would I be now without the darkness AND the light? They have shaped me both, and I wouldn’t change a thing.
