A smile says it all. It says that your heart is open and ready for warmth from those around you.

Australia - The Smile Says It All

It says you have courage and freedom, that you live to live and not only to survive. A smile affects those around you, contagiously overwhelming them to do the same. It is a beautifully simple gift. A smile is in many ways the most powerful tool we have against all forms of suffering. Lama Ole Nydahl’s legendary smile melts hearts, warms rooms and halls, and amplifies out into space affecting everyone that comes into contact with it. It is applied liberally to his face at all times. It is arguably his most powerful feature; beyond all that compassionate action and bodhisattva-like endless activity, it is his smile that opens all doors. It is this welcoming, genuine, appreciative-of-all style of living that keeps him so radiant, and keeps so many glued to his presence. It is his genuine heart that shines through in these moments of barren-soul glow. It is his truest nature that we see, that we want to share in, and that we want to see more of in ourselves. Who wouldn’t want a piece of that?

I wish to thank from the bottom of my heart everyone that I have shared these past weeks with. It has been absolutely incredible. I feel like I have been here for months, or even years - tonight when I go wheels up again and off on the road once more I will be leaving a large piece of my heart here, and some wonderful new family as well. You are all amazing, generous, kind and overwhelmingly hospitable. You are all so dedicated to your practice, to your Sangha, and to each other, and for this I am deeply touched. You have left me inspired. Inspired to give more, to work harder, to share more too - so I wish to make my entire photo collection available to the public in hi-res quality, my little gift to you all. It’s the least I can do, for here I have been given so much. Thank you all for the support, for all the sharing, the comments and messages exchanged during this now legendary course here in Australia. Thanks to all who greeted me and treated me like family from the start. And of course, my deepest gratitude and thanks goes out to Lama Ole, the glue that keeps it all together, the strongest bond between us - for his energy and patience, his compassion and humor, and for his overwhelming positivity and that broad roaring smile that has left us all speechless and glowing from the inside out. The smile says it all - thank you all so much!
