While we have been working endlessly and tirelessly setting up the show - everything from drilling holes and running cable, installing lights, projectors and speakers, back and forth from the printers to the hardware store - keeping ourselves super busy running around on errands that somehow end up taking all the day away as we are always in need of just “one more thing to make it work”.
This entire project would be completely lost if not for Anna and Galu - for they have been the true saviors and both the spirit and backbone of this entire process - from the initial planning to the layout, setup and every single overwhelming detail in between, they have always been there ready and willing to go the distance to make this all work - and for this I am both impressed and truly grateful.
This afternoon, taking a short break from setup we stepped outside to see the most incredible rainbow halo around the sun, directly overhead of the stupa. This stupa is stunning, and one of the most powerful things I have ever seen - with its location on a hillside directly next to the sea, with its views of the African coastline visible on a clear day like today, the rich clear blue sky dotted with puffy white clouds, it creates a sensation of wonder and bewilderment at the same time - it’s honestly hard to believe that this is indeed real. The great white Enlightenment Stupa de Benalmadena, like a great shining spear jutting into the sky, and on this special day of days, just 24 short hours before we launch this exhibition with all of our energy and devotion, and the course with Jigme Rinpoche will also begin - a quick afternoon break becomes more than inspirational, here at the Stupa de Benalmádena there is a rainbow in the sky overhead.
