Dearest Maniwa, Though we never shared a word, you saw through the deepest crags of my heart like fire through crystal. A smile or glimpse assured that all in the world was as it should be.

Dearest Maniwa

Your life was a constant stream of practice - with a depth and profundity beyond words. You embodied the Dharma as only a Buddha does.

My heart is numb, my words land empty, your passing carves a cavern of hollowness in my heart. Yet lit at its center, a flower garden of devotion and gratitude blooms.

I am deeply saddened by your departure, yet I feel your presence stronger than ever before. You will always live in my heart.

No mud, no lotus. Without impermanence the heart knows no longing. Your parting is your greatest teaching.

I can hear my heart gently tearing.

Maniwa, the ever practicing one, the spirit of devotion, I shall miss you dearly.
