Lama Ole always says that highest truth is highest joy. Highest joy is what we all want; freedom from suffering, not just for ourselves, but for all beings.

Europe Center - Highest Truth Is Highest Joy

Freedom from the pains and agony of loss, anger, fear and pain. Freedom from the burdens of life. Freedom from the attachment of not getting what we want, or, getting it and then the inevitable suffering it brings when we realize that it didn’t, couldn’t, satisfy our desires and we need more. Highest Joy is everything we ever dreamed of. But it comes at a price. It comes with the understanding that nothing but our own minds can free ourselves from the shackles of samara. Nothing but letting go and allowing the world to pass before us as it naturally does, unabated and unaffected by our own actions and desires. If we ever want to be really and truly free, we MUST practice the dharma for the benefit of all sentient beings. We must be happy with less, give more, love endlessly and always maintain a joyful state of mind. We must always benefit others, and in doing so our own suffering can be reduced substantially. We must truly let go. We must realize the truth, this highest truth, and then the real joy can come.
