The sun is baking, it’s crowded, crazy and super energized - with wonderful friends gathered from all around the world, all having an amazing time in the wild Mandala that this place uniquely creates - just the way it should be.
Everyone is smiling; the cooks, cleaning crew, builders, and volunteers are literally singing and dancing as they work. Kids are flamboyant and everywhere, babies in all directions, this is quite a family place indeed. So many languages bouncing around in my ears, so many kind people coming up to say hi, congratulate me on my recent wedding, I am grinning from ear to ear and even blushing a bit from a few of them. People here are just incredibly sweet. The place is humming positivity - and at the center of it all is Lama Ole. Coming in straight powerful, he took the stage last night for the opening lecture in German, where he led a guided 16th Karmapa meditation like I’ve never seen. The bread and butter practice of Diamond Way Centers around the world I’ve witnessed innumerable times, but this time was different. He was so deeply concentrated he never once opened his eyes. Hands crossed at his heart, the distinct mudra of the great 16th Karmapa vividly clear for all to see. Eyes closed in deep meditation, voice slow and deep, the connection to Karmapa passing through everyone in the room like a wave. It was incredibly powerful. It was just the way it should be. And now the Summer Course 2018 has officially begun!
