His words coming out like golden thread, weaving through the air like gentle wisps of light, coming to rest in our own hearts, leaving us glowing and empowered. To live a long life without this glow is worthless. He said that life without compassion is simply impossible to bear. That we must always have this inspiration within us, striving for compassion and longevity for the sake of helping others is the basis for a meaningful life. To have this glow in our hearts, lighting our path, spreading out to all beings. We must be the carriers of this light, shining it out from our hearts as well. This is the way of a true Bodhisattva. This is what Karmapa has asked us to do. This is a long life worth living. This is what we must do.
