I woke this morning to rain pouring down on my roof, and it continued regardless of my busy day and previous travel plans.

Benalmádena - Leaving the Rain Behind

As I began trudging through train station after train station, airport after airport, slowly making my way to Spain I was made keenly aware of how draining yet miraculous travel can be.

I left this morning and this evening I will not only be in a different country, speaking a different language, and surrounded by different people, but my mind and heart will have always made a voyage as well. I am incredibly lucky to be doing what I'm doing, I have work that makes me happy to my core, and while things are generally up in the air more than concise, the life of a travelling artist gypsy is not without its fragility - I am without words to describe what it feels like to actually have forward momentum, to have an existence that is full of possibility, to finally be able to do what I love and to create a life with this activity. It seems that the life I chased as a young man, the glittery idea of constant touring and visiting all corners of the globe has somehow, unbeknownst to me, become my reality. A true gift, one that I can only now begin to truly realize and accept, one that fills me with gratitude, and somehow, strangely enough, with peace of mind amongst the craziness.

In just a few days my first ever exposition of my work will be on display and I'm feeling more than energized and excited, such a proposition was beyond my imagination just a few short months ago. So, for now, I'm leaving the rain behind in search of warm sun, great friends, (more like family) and the prospects of a most wonderful event, a first for me, and the makings of yet another great adventure.

Stupa de Benalmádena here I come!
