Witness my friends the grand finale - the beautiful mandala so expertly crafted with care and painstaking detail vanished in a single moment, rubbed into impermanent oblivion with a careful brush stroke of Karmapa. Returning back to a simple pile of sand, such beauty and color washed away, leaving nothing behind but echoing memory.
The seven days of Gyalwa Gyamptso coming to a close, with crowns of gold and a wild array of incredible intricate dress for all. The gompa transformed with shimmering crimson, brocade along the endless rows of black crowns all dancing as one. In the center, Shamar Rinpoche’s newly consecrated stupa, glowing gold and glorious just like he always was. At the end sits Karmapa, like a rock holding the entire place together. His face a serene and poised reflection of Buddha Nature itself. Majestic and regal as ever, without a doubt our Dharma King in the flesh. Who better to lead us in this? What better day as well, for today is Saga Dawa, the anniversary of the Buddha’s reaching of enlightenment, and this my friends is a great cause for celebration.
So happy Duchen my friends, may your lives be full of light and laughter and love. May your practice be without obstacles and your hearts always full of joy. May the Great Eastern Sun always rise, and may the lotus flowers of the Rigden’s wisdom forever bloom. May we all be connected in this world of ours, regardless of how far apart we may be, coming together as a family, united under the great eternal banner of Dharma.
