Three years ago I had no hope, and no chance of survival. I was given a chance by two such men - omniscient beings of great compassion and wisdom devoting their lives to guiding us all along our path and adventures. The first was Shamar Rinpoche - under whose watchful wings and compassionate yet wrathful gaze I was brought back to life from the depths of the unknown and the unspeakable. The ways he touched my life, as for countless others, is a gift that I will never truly understand, but for which I am eminently grateful. The second, our beloved Karmapa, forever growing and expounding his awesome power as a human being of the utmost compassion and dignity, has carried the torch of my heart from the moment I met him. His intensity and vajra presence have their ego shattering abilities for me as well, a simple look from either of these grand titans of Dharma would rearrange my molecules and kickstart my heart like an atom bomb. Wildly different in their methods, together they were like an unstoppable force of nature. Their bond, its true depth far beyond my realm of understanding, was so touching and deep that I can weep upon reflection. I am overwhelmed by the softness and open way these two cared for one another. They completed each other. As if the edge of one simply became the start of the other. Whether seated together, or calling the other from afar with triumphant cries of devotion, the softness of their timeless bond will forever be the truest testament of trust, friendship and respect for lifetimes to come.
