You are the King or Queen of this kingdom, and the amount of happiness that can have - for yourself and others - depends entirely on how many people you have in your kingdom.
How many people you care about. Of course you can begin with your family, friends, work mates, and others you have met along the way, but this is just a tiny speck in the cosmos of existence. All those that suffer endlessly all over the world, the uncountable trillions, are they in your kingdom too? If it is just you in your kingdom, a lonely emperor, you are sure to be unhappy all your life. The more people we can invite into our lives and into our hearts, the more love and compassion we can have. It is the actual act of inviting in more, and not holding on selfishly to the little that you have, that is the key to the kingdom of loving kindness itself.
