He is a man of simplicity and devotion. A man whose Dharma activities never cease, no matter where he is or what he is doing - he is praying, practicing and giving blessing every moment of his life. He is a man who needs no introduction to the thousands that come to his Mani Accumulation pujas for weeks at a time. He is a servant of Dharma in all ways, and ultimately devoted to Karmapa. He is one of the only people I have ever seen to shine like the sun and yet take absolutely nothing for himself. He greets all who come to him with grace, a huge smile and his signature bump on the head from the ever spinning Khorlo that is his trademark. Just today at the Manang Gompa in Swayambhu there were thousands of locals, all crammed into the new hall that has just been rebuilt after the earthquake. The sound of them singing together, this sound is unlike anything I have ever heard. Thousands of voices, like a chorus of golden trumpets echoing off the concrete walls. And their faces, such deep concentration and emotion, people of all ages and all walks of life. And seated at the front, leading them all with his voice ringing out and his eyes so full of devotion, was the one and only Maniwa.
