When he laughs like that it’s simply too much to handle. How can one not explode in laughter seeing something so radiant and giggle-worthy as this? Funny enough, Karmapa taught us about anger today. He said that anger is in fact the strongest, most visible and damaging emotion we have. It’s also one of the most temporary. He told us that patience is the best anger management. Real, intense anger never last very long, it always gives way to other feelings. We can feel desire, pride, jealousy or ignorance for years, without even recognizing them. But anger, we see it right away. We can’t avoid it. So in many ways anger can also be a great teacher, because we can see its effects so vividly, we can’t hide behind it. When we have patience, we are forced to wait, and by waiting the anger always subsides on its own. Sounds like a heavy subject right? Only the Karmapa could make something like anger so funny, lightweight and understandable. He had us simultaneously captivated on the edge of our seats, and again huge laughs, we’re all lost again reeling in tears, holding our sides in giggle convulsions as the talk continues on. The one and only KIBI March Course has officially begun!
