Thunder, Lightning, Power and Dignity. Raging Windhorse and a whisper soft and solemn tender heart.

KIBI - The Beautiful Nitty Gritty

These terms come to mind when I try and explain the presence of the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, omitting so many in the process as the labor to describe my feelings notwithstanding I am incapable of the right words. How to express what it’s like to sit in the shadow of a living Buddha? How to show the world how I feel through simple images when there is cascading infinity behind these clicks of shutter and time. When the dark and nitty gritty show tremendous beauty, out of the shadow peering into a world of light. How can every photo be a brimming smile and laughing face when the encompassing multitude of expressions and feelings he omits every nanosecond break all barriers and shatter all concepts? How can they all be clear and crisp when the shake and wobble of reality are so real and present in his wake? It is in the nitty gritty that the rarest glimpse of open space can be found. In the grit there is softness and mellow hue. There is such grace in the dark. A tender beautiful moment. A moment in-between all others. It is in these moments between moments that I live. It is in these rarest of splintered moments that his true nature and most powerful form can be seen by all.
