The overwhelming and incredible outpour of congratulations, support and love that has been sent our way in the past 24 hours is staggering, and my thanks cannot be expressed in words.
It feels as though the entire world has opened their hearts to us, and it has touched me deeply. Bright and early this morning even Karmapa called me over to his throne during a break, and to my incredible surprise and slight embarrassment he offered his congratulations as well. It seems news travels quite fast when all the family is in one place at the same time. I feel like 200 monks shook my hand and gave me a hug today, and all our lamas, Rinpoche’s, and every one of our dear friends from around the world have been so incredibly loving and joining in the excitement with us. We just came from a totally unexpected surprise celebration dinner where again the friends, joy and endless special guests continued to arrive bringing with them all the love from all directions, it left us both quite speechless. I just wish to take this opportunity to thank everyone for all the wishes and love. For your sharing in this dream come true for me, and for Katarina as well. We don’t have our family here with us, but in this wonderful setting, under the tree with our dearest Dharma family with us, we have all the family we could ever need.
