I am overwhelmed with emotion. These past few days have been wave after wave of incredible things passing before my eyes.

Monlam 2019 - The Waves

Unbelievable really. I oftentimes cannot really comprehend that this is my life, and this is real. The majesty of those that I spend my time with. Their abilities in this world are astounding. The way they move my heart is just beyond everything. It’s just been incredible, every single moment. As a special gift Karmapa went to visit His Eminence Luding Khenchen Rinpoche at his private residence here in Gaya, and I was asked to come. The way these two men care for each other is breathtaking. The glowing smiles to one another, the way they embrace. Rinpoche is quite old and needs help to walk, but his eyes sparkled as he adamantly came quickly over to Karmapa to greet him. He is just incredible this man, I am blown away every time I see him. Moved to the core. Karmapa then offered a representation of body, speech, and mind - the most respectful and genuine gesture he can make and I nearly wept from the intensity of it. I was just inches away, my heart beating a mile a minute as these two kings of Dharma showed their deepest affections to each other. There was just so much love in the room. How to handle all this love, these waves of rampant emotion and joy? I simply cannot contain it and I spill over, flooding everywhere. That’s just the way I am. I wear my emotions on my sleeves, and my heart is out in the open. I remind myself, this is real. These beings, and what they can do are real. This is just their lives, their majesty. And this is my life, and I get to see it up close.
