A victorious day does not always come with sunshine, but blessings remain unperturbed. Sometimes the rain, cold and wind strike up a very special moment all their own.

NALA - A Moment In Time

Wednesday was such a day.

After years of preparations, immense work from a small team, and a few surprise visits (like Karmapa), I am delighted to share that the first stupa built on the NALA Karma Kunga Padkar Ling property has now been inaugurated! How exciting indeed. And it was blessed by none other than Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche himself. He’s been in Prague the last two months in fact, preparing everything, leading all the pujas, giving his unquestionably unmatched advice on every minute detail and step of the way. What an incredible being he is. Without words, without any verbal communication, I have always felt like he knows me, knows what I feel, deeper than most. He touches my heart, with just a glance. What a special time, to spend all those precious moments with Rinpoche, in such a private and family setting. While I missed most of it due to my knee surgery - with lots more recovery time than I expected - it felt amazing to be back on my feet and shooting for such an important event. (Even if I was still a bit wobbly, I’m doing what I can)

And so, on a cold and rainy day, Wednesday the 11th to be exact, about 200 people gathered around the Stupa for its coronation and welcoming to the world. It was such a beautiful moment, despite the crazy weather. The sound system was cutting out, the winds were so strong that offerings were falling off the stupa, flowers zinging through the air. The covering over the statue part was engulfed in such strong gusts that it seemed the whole monument might just lift off the ground and careen into the sky. Rinpoche’s warm smile and calm presence reassured us all that none of it mattered, and it was all just as it should be. Just as it should be indeed, a very special moment in time.

I wish to congratulate NALA for this great occasion, this has been a crowning achievement. And what’s more, there is a second stupa inauguration on Monday! Unbelievable what these people can do in such short time. Looking back, this property was barren and empty not long ago, now we see a flourishing space emblazoned with activity. I am deeply moved by what they have accomplished, and I consider myself very lucky to be a tiny part of this Dharma activity.

Ki Ki, So So!
