Last year's Kagyu Monlam was my first major event as a photographer, travelling with KIBI and Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje, it was an incredible opportunity, and a rare blend of radiant, glowing faces and some of the best natural lighting conditions I've had the pleasure of shooting in. And, like most of our group that year, I was so sick the entire time, giving the whole trip an almost laughable level of intensity and work.
