Shamar Rinpoche’s stupa is utterly breathtaking - an incredible golden stupa nestled in the beautiful gardens of Renchen Ulm’s Bodhi Path center, it looks like a precious golden jewel.

Renchen Ulm - The Golden Beauty

It is magnificent, there’s no other way to describe it.

Intricately detailed engravings, glimmering gold in the afternoon sun, majestically sitting on a huge rock brought especially from Poland just for its final resting place. Something so beautiful is exactly what deserves to be placed in final memoriam of Rinpoche, to honor his life and incredible activity, to represent his Buddha activity - nothing less will do, and this stupa does not disappoint in any regard whatsoever. It is a fitting token, a memorial of the highest quality and beauty, so powerful that gazing upon it quite literally brought me to tears. Rinpoche’s presence was most certainly with us today, I felt him strongly, the crowd felt him strongly, as we all sang together and prayed together. It has already brought us all closer together, you can feel its power in the air, it is most certainly real. I honestly believe that Rinpoche would have approved of this, a grand gesture of respect and honor that his loving and ever devoted Sangha have made for him. A precious jewel befitting a Dharma king, the golden Beauty now sits for all the world to see.

With an enormous crowd numbering well into the many hundreds, all circling the structure in the bitter cold, jovial energies prevailed, as the Rabne and unveiling pujas were led by Lama Jigme Rinpoche himself. We also released hundreds of balloons into the air, each tied with a wish, a prayer, someone’s heartfelt words, a gorgeous display as they colorfully danced in the cold brisk air, slowly vanishing out of sight into the heavens. For me, the day felt like light was exploding in all directions, my heart bursting, the energy was overwhelming at times, yet calm and peaceful, always wonderful but powerful, just like being around Rinpoche always was for me. I miss Rinpoche terribly, I speak about this a lot, as he was always with me in life, even if rarely near me, but he has only become more powerful to me with his passing. Somehow his great heart continues to warm our lives from a distance, his teachings continue to teach us, to guide us, we are all so much more connected now, a much bigger family now thanks to him. This golden beauty is a perfect symbol of how I feel about him; shining and brilliant, never overstated or presumptuous, just the right size to jolt your mind to immediate attention. It is a symbol of his awakened mind. It is a reflection of the life he lived and all that he touched. Forever emblazoned into the earth and rock. It will stand forever, just as he will. Mr Wojtek Kossowski, Sir - you have outdone yourself in the highest possible way, and I cannot thank you enough for this incredible gift that allows us all to show our respect and love to Rinpoche for years to come. This golden jewel that represents all that Rinpoche meant to all of us. Thank you for this jewel, this precious golden jewel, that now sits for all the world to see.

We all miss you Rinpoche, please come back soon.
