Shanghai - Wandering Street View

The streets of Shanghai - even on a cold and wintery day such as this there is much to see around me, for I finally have an afternoon to myself in which to explore and get lost in the city’s intricacies and vivid details. Bustling and modern meets quaint winding locales, mega buildings tower above as little shops dot the streets selling colorful wares and beautiful floral arrangements.

Nighttime is lit with colorful lights - daytime is detail reflecting everywhere, creating patterns and mirror games with my lens and my eyes, investigating this world around me for interest and introspection leaves no lack of motif. Inside the Shanghai Center of Photography is an expo devoted to two Magnum Masters: Barbey & Berry, whose photographs have seen this world like no one else, they are perhaps two of the very best reportage photographers that ever lived. Spending some time taking in their inspiring and deeply compelling work, these two men are truly incredible artists, their work speaks for generations. They have not only taken beautiful and spellbinding photos, but works of historical importance that have defined the world we live in. It seems very fitting that I stumble upon this gallery while exploring the city, taking photographs, and trying my best to portray my feelings through my lens at the same time. The lens is a powerful tool, one that I have only begun to scratch the surface of its possibility and potential. I am lucky, for the Shanghai wandering street view is a compelling. theatreto try and fulfill this in.
