While in Shar Minub, as we were all anxiously waiting for the Kudung to be allowed to finally come to Nepal - I visited the roof every day to watch as the cremation stupa was being built.

Shar Minub Cremation Stupa

As the days went on, the final touches were being made and it was truly amazing to watch it happen before my eyes; something so beautiful, so meticulously created and painted - and always with the distinct possibility that it couldn't be used if plans fell through.

I was originally asked not to make any of these images public, until the cremation had passed, but now I can share a few images from these final days of preparation. What a labor of love and dedication, these artists were truly incredible to witness, and the transformation is remarkable.
