More than 3000 friends, hot and shining weather, that incredible stupa, babies everywhere, it was a wonderful, welcoming atmosphere all around. The blessing line was full of families, children coming for the first time, eyes connecting with Ole in that special way they do. He grabs their attention so much, I see it all the time. They are completely mesmerized by him. I love to see the second generation coming in, our Dharma family is growing by the minute. This was actually my first course with Ole in my new home of Czech, just an hour’s drive away. I’ve never had it so easy. Gone is the endless travel, the planes, trains and waiting. Gone is the days of recovery and forgetting what day or even month it is. Simply waking up, and after a short drive you can be in a place such as Tenovice, really reminds me of how fortunate we all are to have so much Dharma at our doorstep. In olden times one could walk for months through snowy mountains just to hear the Dharma, and we can find it everywhere. Ole is a perfect example of someone who has created a near unlimited pathway to constant Dharma. He is everywhere, all the time, and seeing him doesn’t require arduous travel or bankruptcy, we simply grab our sleeping bags, get in the car, and go. We should be profoundly grateful to him for this, for it has been his life’s work to endlessly circle the globe to make this available to us. He is a beacon, and all you have to do is follow it.
