He is one of the most wonderful, kind, genuine, energetic, modern, wise and hilarious people on the planet. He has crazy awesome energy. His laugh is legend. He has this huge, epic smile, and the full belly laughter that follows sends me right through the roof. I melt, and cannot help but tumble into the gravity of his enormous heart and immense genuine charisma. What I appreciate about him the most is his incredible sincerity, and utter devotion to the Buddha Dharma, and to his students. When you speak to him, you can feel his deep longing to really listen. My heart opens around him, and I find myself asking what I really need to know - no rules, no taboo - nothing held back. He invites the genuineness in you. He totally blew my mind during our studio session. When we were almost done, I asked him if he wanted to show me anything else. He slowly closed his eyes and began singing and chanting, his deep thunderous voice echoing off the walls as he made his bell and Dorje dance in the air in front of me like nothing I have ever seen. Then he began to dance. I ran back to my camera, and this became the center piece for the whole collection. They are some of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken; the great gift of the unexpected. I feel deeply honored to share this intimate collection of portraits of Rinpoche, and I am forever touched that he felt willing enough to show me.
I present the next installment of my Dharma Studio series - this is Dupsing Rinpoche.
