This is Nedo Rinpoche. He reminds me so much of the 16th Karmapa in the photos I grew up with.

The Dharma Studio - Nedo Rinpoche

He also has the most incredible eyes. Bright fiery rings of blue against almost pitch black centers. They are piercing and bold. He is magnanimous, hugely inspiring, with an ultra approachable, unequivocally genuine energy. He is the Vajra Master from Rumtek, and yet he is always open to anyone, often just hanging out with a cup of tea, always happy to share experiences, stories and dharma. His presence can be quite intense, but he is so kind, and so funny, and so gentle. He often responded to my posing requests with a smile, a brief moment with his eyes closed, and would then re-emerge completely different, taking on the qualities I had asked for. He was a most patient and eager subject, moving gracefully, sitting peacefully. He seemed to really enjoy it. His laugh is one that makes the world shine, and it is uncontrollably contagious. It’s not every day you sit inches from the face of a Master like him, but we were both grinning ear to ear the entire time. I think it shows in the photos, how much he enjoyed himself, as he always does. If only you could see my grin from the other side of the lens.

I present the second installment in The Dharma Studio series - Nedo Rinpoche.
